Press B to summon (or dismiss) your mount. Your horse can canter normally, or you can make it gallop by holding down the Shift key. Some weapon skills are also available in battle only while your character is riding a horse. Killing an enemy's horse puts them at a considerable tactical disadvantage!
Inspector Ellen Kiel successfully located the hideout of the runaway fugitive Mai Trin and her mysterious 'Aetherblade pirates'. Thereafter, the Commander and Ellen Kiel raided the hideout located at Diverse Ledges in the outskirts of Lion's Arch. The hideout was using holographic technology to create an illusionary wall to deter intruders. Throughout the raid, they were met with deadly resistance by the Aetherblade pirates. The sewer system quickly turned into a shanty town created by the pirates within the mountain range as a base.[35] The hideout continued around, facing the Sea of Sorrows but could not be detected from the outside due to the stolen holographic technology. Later, throughout the spiralling base the Inquest started to appear beside the pirates, defending them. At the top of the mountain, the Lionguard found Mai Trin with her First Mate, Horrik discussing their fear of an individual named 'Scarlet' for unsuccessfully opening a council seat. The duo were attempting escape in airship vessels that resembled the Pact's airships. However, Kiel and the Commander were successful in stopping their escape and were able to destroy the vessels.
During the election Ellen Kiel's history as a child was revealed. It was revealed that Ellen lost her parents in a shipwreck as a child, and was saved by the hands of the Lionguard, specifically Magnus. This led to Kiel looking up to Magnus as a father figure and would not disappoint him. She owed her life to Magnus. Likewise, some of Gnashblade's history came to fruition. It was discovered that Evon came to Lion's Arch as a soldier of the Ash Legion at the age of twenty, with his warband's mission to extort the people under the banner of the Black Lion Trading Company. Evon believed the plan would not be fruitful,[43] and so killed his war leader, Aria Gnashfang, in open combat and established the Black Lion Trading Company 'properly'.
After some time, Vorpp was able to reverse engineer a portal into the arena level by gathering information from the teleportation technology found in Broadhollow Bluffs. The asuran emissary was able to conclude that Scarlet used the same teleportation methods seen through the steam machines. How and why Scarlet was able to use this ability is still unanswered. When the portal was open, the Commander was able to rescue some of the civilians, however Scarlet, who declared the Commander to be her number one enemy, was prepared using Aetherblade ships to make a getaway.
The contingent was able to get past the diminished defenses of the Nightmare Court[58] before being stopped by a holographic message. The hologram depicted Scarlet as she taunted the Commander and mainly Caithe. It didn't take long for the stronghold's security system to take note of the intruders, however Caithe was able to use the distraction to sneak past in the shadows.[59] The team was met with heavy resistance from Aetherblades, and curiously steam creatures. Throughout the experience, the holograms[60] continued to jibe and berate the intruders, however, the group was able to pass through into the stronghold. It was discovered that the area was used by the Aetherblades to train and build airships. The Aetherblades also showed an unusual amount of loyalty for pirates. As the group reached the airship stations, a hologram greeted Caithe with pre-recorded messages taunting her of secrets that not even Faolain knows.[61] They also learnt that the Aetherblades were able to reconfigure the hologram technology to be used as bombs. It was also discovered that the Aetherblades showed great fear of Scarlet. As the contingent attempted to fight against the holographic enemies, the real Aetherblades were able to capture Caithe, under Scarlet's suggestion of where she would attempt to access the stronghold. How she knew where Caithe would be, is yet to be revealed.
After the creatures death, Marjory injected the antitoxin, however, as more antitoxin was used it became clear that the tower began to react; learning to counter the effects and to become stronger. Marjory was able to search the heart and locate a hidden passage that led to a chamber. Inside the chamber, they found technology from all the alliance Scarlet created; Molten, Aetherblade, Watchknights, and now Toxic. It was discovered that the toxic seedlings are immune to heat and that the Watchknights at the jubilee were set to be controlled by audio commands. When pieces of all the creations were thrown into a forge, a ball of energy was created, which Marjory used in combination with the antitoxin to get through the new barriers. When the improved antitoxin was injected, the tower began to groan as if it was alive. As the final toxin reached the plants system, it began to crumble, forcing the whole tower to collapse.
The horse lord army to the east, spanning over a wide area of open fields. The Khuzait offer the strongest cavalry units in the game and are much easier to get than other factions. Khuzait armies will have the highest percentage of cavalry units, and with mounted archers, make quick work of any army on an open field.
The flip side is that lords being lords, demand lands as a reward for going to battle with you. Still, you should make alliances with lords for strengthening your army even if you have to incur some land costs in doing so.
The armies of Noxus appear to be little more than barbarous hosts of individual warbands, but this belies the discipline and sophistication required to make such a formation viable. Noxus foregoes a strict rigid standardized order - there are merely smaller warbands, larger warhosts, and massive legions - in favor of allowing their forces to specialize in what they do best, directing them to tasks or areas where their strengths can serve the empire best. Within the Noxian army, there are equal chances for anyone: everyone starts on the same rank. On the front lines, a foreign slave could be the equal of a highborn noble.
One might think that Lolth and Gruumsh would make natural allies, as both were comparable entities of divine chaos with a strong hatred of Corellon. Though the two were believed to have had dalliances in the past, they were, in truth, fundamentally different. The Spider Queen was whimsically wicked, but her complicated acts of malice were deliberate and well-woven. Gruumsh, meanwhile, was steady in his rage, but this focused fury was as mindless as a tempest. Gruumsh had never been a cooperative deity, and once the deceptive demoness betrayed him, he refused to work with her again.[24] As far as he was concerned, she was an elf, making her his enemy,[27] and he hated her as much as he ever hated Corellon.[32] Lolth had little issue with this, and was happy to be rid of the odorous orc deity, knowing there were other gods she could manipulate.[27]
As the day waned and night waxed, Gruumsh was empowered by the growing darkness while Corellon was weakened.[91][24][38] The orc god's superior power and endurance had begun to prevail over Corellon's dancing blade, and so Gruumsh pressed his advantage.[38] Corellon, knowing he would not outlast him, had no choice but to make his retreat at this time,[24][27] not just for his own sake but to protect the essence of the elven people, much as he would have liked to continue fighting. Even as he sat down to rest under the shade of a gnarled tree Gruumsh was pursuing him, the open terrain and bright moonlight making the elf all the easier to track.[27]
The Greeks excel at diplomacy and influencing city-states. Their unique ability makes their Influence with city-states degrade more slowly and recover faster. This ability is arguably more powerful than it looks. It is easy for them to maintain an Allied status with city-states once they achieve it. Use every opportunity throughout the game to do this, and Greece will not only be well on the way to a diplomatic victory but also gain other substantial advantages. If all the policies in the Patronage tree are adopted, Greece will be able to maintain a stranglehold on city-state alliances that will be nearly impossible for rival civilizations to break. Religion can also play an important role in Greek diplomacy, because if its religion spreads to an allied city-state, Greece loses Influence with the city-state even slower (or not at all, if the Patronage opener was chosen). 153554b96e
