The fifth game in the Dead Rising series. Set one year after Dead Rising 4, the game features an older Frank West returning to Willamette, Colorado, during the summer. The game focuses more on the town of Willamette itself, than on the outbreak. The game introduces the "Instructable" reporter, which can be used to collect interesting items and continue. As before, the 72 hour system has been dropped, to encourage exploration. While the survival goals are now forgotten for Frank, the player can spend time on the Willamette Memorial Megaplex to find hard to reach loot, including weapons, costumes, and power-ups, as well as micro-items. Two difficulty options were added to the game - "Casual" and "Action" - making it a single-player game by default, but the "Instructable" feature gives it the feel of a multiplayer game, although it technically is a single-player game.
